He creates something beautiful out of the pain of our lives to the extent we offer it back to Him. That pain originates out of bad choices -- both our own and those of other people. Pain . . . is a product of sin, which God sent Jesus to destroy. That's how much He loves us! I'm in the midst of writing a reflection inspired by a friend who is in a time of spiritual darkness. God has been leading me through an intense period of spiritual cleansing when the darkness of my sins have sometimes become so prevailing, it's painful. We all need reminders like this that we can be lifted up and made whole by the ultimate Light and ultimate Truth, which we can't create on our own, nor can we extinguish from it's source, the love of God. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed meeting you at the Catholic Writers' Conference and have taken even greater pleasure in reading your writing ever since. God bless.
